Reading Gospel Choir
A well-known Reading choir is through to the finals of a BBC competition and hoping to get sponsorship for new uniforms.
The Reading Community Gospel Choir will be taking part in BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year competition 2015.
The choir is due to attend the televised finals on Saturday, July 18 at 6pm to 9.30pm at the Hackney Empire in London.
The members are absolutely delighted to be in the finals and say they are “exuberant with the prospect of representing Reading’s local talent on a national stage”.

People from Reading who would like to support their local choir at the televised event can reserve free tickets by registering their interest on the choir website or completing an application form on the BBC website at
The choir, which sings a mixture of classic gospel and contemporary songs, is hoping to get sponsorship not only for uniforms for the big night but also to pay for travel.
