Choir songs for Primary School

Welcome to Muskham School Choir members and visitors to our page.

The school choir is open to children in Key Stage 2 and is run by Mrs Booth and Mrs Davies. We are very lucky to have Mr Starr, our very talented pianist, which means we are able to tackle a wide variety of material. We are also regularly supported by Mrs Hamilton, a former school governor, and Mrs Hunnam, an amazing parent helper. We don't audition for choir places and we try to take most of the children who want to join however, we do have to limit numbers sometimes.

This summer Muskham School Choir will be going back to the 1970's. Our performance for family and friends will be called 'We Will Rock You'.

We will be singing songs from Queen, Abba, The Foundations, The Carpenters, Shawaddywaddy and John Lennon. Choir members have been asked to design an A4, lanscape poster advertising 'We Will Rock You' by Muskham School Choir.

The design can be anything that sums up the 1970's or any of the artists that we are looking at.

There will be a 'chocolaty' prize for the winning design! All designs should be given in by Wednesday 2nd March and Mrs Davies and I can't wait to see what you've come up with.

Good Luck!!!

Choir have had a very busy festive period. Our first engagement was at the village Hairdressing Salon for their charity Christmas event. It was a great way to start Christmas, singing outside, and thankfully it didn't rain.

Our next performance was at the 'Messy Christingle' service at St Wilfrids. Lots of choir children attended and sang brilliantly despite limited practice time!

We then performed at the school Christmas fair. We sang a selection of festive favourites accompanied by Mr Starr on the piano.

Finally, we took part in the family sing along at the church. Year 4 choir children joined us despite rushing in from their class visit. What a great way to end our term.

We will be re-starting choir on Wednesday 10th February ( Please note date change due to Parents' Evening) when we will begin learning songs for our performance to family and friends later in the year. Mrs Booth and Mrs Davies wish you all a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in 2016.

Choir rehearsals will begin again on October 7th at 3.30pm - see you there!

Congratulations choir on a brilliant performance of 'Muskham School Choir Does LOVE'. We were so proud of you all and I'm sure your families and friends enjoyed the evening.

Thank you also for all your cake donations, they were very much enjoyed too!

Mrs Davies and Mrs Booth were also really touched by our kind gifts and want to say a huge 'THANK YOU'. We were very surprised and pleased but both run choir because we enjoy music and singing and want to share that enjoyment with you all. To our year 6 members, 'GOOD BYE' and 'GOOD LUCK' and we hope you keep singing, to the rest of choir, have a fabulous holiday and we'll see you in September.

Check out the letter below for more details.

The following audio files are the warm ups from our training session. If you want any further information about them, please don't hesitate to ask.
